The Sawtooth shed is imploded, exposing elements of the wall, roof, and floor systems to become an unconventional primary school. Each system is delaminated and imploded, split and shifted to create new spatial conditions, and reveals a new reading of wall, roof, and floor as each layer becomes an individual object. Parts of each element that were originally hidden are exposed, revealing the messy, unfinished sides of the material. Programmatically, material functions to designate different learning spaces. The inherent experience of these materials, in combination with their programmatic associations, provides students with a tactile, exploratory environment that enables social interaction as a source of learning.
