The project hybridizes common building types of the house and the drive-thrus that are present in Los Angeles. It explores the relationship between the project and the site by employing elements in the site and landscape as formal parameters that controlled the transformation of the hybrid to allow it to ‘fit’ into its site. The existing formal language was also utilized to divide program into house and marketplace, where the house took the shape of the rotated volume and the market was attached to it in appendages that permeated outdoor spaces.
