Adjunct Associate Professor

John is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Southern California where he teaches graduate and undergraduate design studios and lectures on materiality. He has previously held teaching positions at Tulane and UC Berkeley. After collaborating with Hadrian Predock at Predock_Frane Architects for 15 years, John became the Design Principal for the Los Angeles office of Hammel Green and Abrahamson.
The work of his practice at Predock_Frane included small-scale art installations, residential and commercial projects, galleries, visual and performing arts venues, and religious facilities. The practice garnered numerous national and international accolades including the 2004 and 2012 Venice Biennale, 2006 Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial, Architectural League Emerging Voices, and multiple AIA Honor Awards. The work is exhibited and published widely.
His work at Hammel Green and Abrahamson includes projects with a focus on the visual and performing art as well as educational and work spaces. He organizes and curates Euclid, their non-collecting, nonprofit arts exhibition venue. He also serves on the board of LAX/ART, a nonprofit exhibition space that promotes developments in contemporary culture through exhibitions, publications, and public programs.
