Tracy Abbott Szatan / IN/VISIBLE
IN/VISIBLE is a video installation and performance in which Tracy Abbott Szatan will explore select spaces through the choreography of body, light source, and Mylar reflections and refractions. In its presentation with La Cage aux Folles, Szatan will, for the duration of an hour, explore, delight in, lose and find herself in an interplay of light, structure, shadow, and lived body. For more info & updates, RSVP on the Facebook event.
Using field recordings taken around New York City by DJs from Greg Ruben's Brooklyn based internet radio program, "bel-air", the DJs will create an installation of NYC's sonic environment in La Cage's courtyard. The recordings, which were mostly captured surreptitiously using the iPhone's Voice Memos app, will be presented in a longform, looping, multi-channel format. At times loud and chaotic, other times uncannily peaceful, each listener's experience is unique depending on their location in the courtyard, and how the different channels happen to be in their individual loop cycles.
