Travis Longcore study featured in the NY Times

 

A study by Professor Travis Longcore has shown that different insects are attracted to specific wavelengths of light, and using bulbs that give off less blue light could help protect people from insect-borne diseases. Longcore is working to develop light bulbs that are less attractive to insects, ideally, “an energy-efficient bulb that has a comfortable color temperature and minimizes insect attraction."
