Laurel Broughton’s Welcome Companions in Vogue

USC Architecture faculty Laurel Broughton’s accessories line, Welcome Companions, was recently featured in Vogue magazine. In addition to raising the vital question, “Should a handbag take the shape of a mouse” the article includes thoughts from Broughton on how teaching at USC informs her other work.

“In school there’s a lot more openness and time to explore ideas that maybe aren’t necessarily realistic at the moment, but can then lead to thinking about new ways to make things in the future.”

Broughton is one of four architects participating in “Errors, Estrangement, Messes & Fiction,” a USC Architecture exhibit opening in December 2015 at Gallery ALL in the Bradbury Building downtown.
