John Mutlow, FAIA recognized for “Innovation in Quality Affordable Housing”

December 15, 2015

John V. Mutlow Architects recently won the Award for Innovation in Quality Affordable Housing from Build Magazine UK’s Architecture Awards 2015.

Professor Mutlow practices architecture in Los Angeles and is known nationally for his work, leadership, and lectures on housing. For the past 30 years, his architectural practice has focused on the design of affordable senior and family housing, with an emphasis on social considerations. Last fall, through Professor Mutlow’s efforts, USC hosted the 2015 Affordable Housing Design Leadership Institute.

“John Mutlow’s recent recognition is merely the newest in a long string of accolades for his dedicated commitment to practice at the highest levels and housing as a critical typology,” said Associate Dean Gail Borden. “Bringing rigorous design to affordable housing, his approach and work represent the best of what architecture must be: a masterful art dedicated to the service and advancement of humanity.”
