Faculty Member Lorcan O’Herlihy, FAIA Wins AIACC Distinguished Practice Award

March 02, 2018

Adjunct Professor Lorcan O'Herlihy, FAIA and founding principal architect of Lorcan O'Herlihy Architects (LOHA) is the recipient of this year's AIA California Council Distinguished Practice Award, which recognizes his significant commitment to and contributions towards urbanism, housing and culture.

This year’s jury voted unanimously to move his submittal forward as the recipient. The entire committee noted how his work “promotes much-needed conversation about the relationship of design to landscape.”

O’Herlihy is no stranger to prestigious awards and recognition. In 2004 the Architectural League of New York selected O'Herlihy as one of the eight "emerging voices" in the United States. This past year his firm, LOHA, was ranked number 5 in the category of design in Architect Magazine's 2017 ARCHITECT50, an annual ranking of architecture firms in the United States.
