12/09/19 Faculty and Alumni Firms Honored at 2019 AN Best of Design Awards

 

Last week, the Architect’s Newspaper announced the winners of its 2019 AN Best of Design Awards. Among the firms honored for exemplary design in their architectural projects, several were run by USC Architecture faculty or alumni. Winning projects were split into 47 different categories and each recognized as either a “Winner,” “Honorable Mention” or “Editors’ Pick.”


Associate Professor Alvin Huang’s firm Synthesis Design + Architecture received an “Honorable Mention” in the “Interior - Hospitality” category for the YPMD Pediatric Neurology Clinic


Assistant Professor Geoffrey von Oeyen’s firm Geoffrey von Oeyen Design received an “Editor’s Pick” in the “Building Renovation - Residential” category for the Case Room.


Visiting Critic Steven Ehrlich’s firm Ehrlich Yanai Rhee Chaney received an “Editor’s Pick” in the “Commercial - Retail” category for The Culver Steps.


Alumnus Mark Lee’s firm Johnston Marklee was awarded “Winner” of the “Cultural” category for the Menil Drawing Institute.


Alumnus Mark Rios’ firm Rios Clementi Hale received an “Honorable Mention” in the “Interior - Workplace” category for the Vrbo Headquarters.
