05/21/13 Architecture Students Win Top Prizes at Annual Symposium

 

 

Students from the USC School of Architecture won top prizes earlier this month at the 15th annual Undergraduate Symposium for Scholarly and Creative Work. The May 1 symposium — sponsored by the USC Office of the Provost and coordinated by the USC Office of Undergraduate Programs — provides undergraduates with the unique opportunity to exhibit and share examples of their significant research and creativity with the university community. Modeled on a professional conference, students present work through poster/panel sessions, art exhibits and electronic media. This year’s symposium contest received 160 submissions from 229 students and 187 faculty sponsors in categories that included arts, humanities, social sciences, life sciences, and physical sciences, mathematics and engineering. A total of 14 prizes were awarded. First place winners received $1,000 and second place winners received $500.
