LEARNING OBJECTIVES MASTER OF BUILDING SCIENCE

Master of Building Science Students will demonstrate the following learning objectives upon completion of this degree program: 

A mastery of the intricacies of structure, environmental controls, sustainability, materials and methods, and computing, with a special strength in façade research.


A solid understanding of core knowledge which is eventually amplified through their individual research projects.


An ability to stretch in a variety of directions, both within the field and beyond into the related disciplines of heritage conservation, landscape architecture, and architecture.


An ability to communicate the processes and results of technical research in both written and verbal communication.


A mastery of methods of advanced technical analysis and the use of digital and physical tools appropriate to research in the building sciences


An ability to scope and define a deep research program, and to conduct the research in professional ways.


An ability to work in a manner consistent with understood professional standards and ethical responsibilities and to advance to the level of professional competence in their field of expertise.
