Upon completion of this degree program, Master of Architecture will: 

Have the ability to thrive in a rigorous intellectual climate, which promotes inquiry through design research.

Have the ability to work collaboratively towards a synthetic design which integrates understanding of programmatic needs, contextual/environmental connections, technological challenges, and historical/theoretical meaning.

Have the ability to communicate both the technical, spatial, and conceptual aspects of design through drawings and models, as well as written and verbal communication.

Have a solid intellectual base of knowledge in history, technology, professional practice and theory.

Have successfully completed an option-based studio and directed design research sequence, pursuing exploration of advanced and emerging topics.

Be able to work in a manner consistent with understood professional standards and ethical responsibilities and to advance to the level of professional licensure in their field of expertise.

Understand the value and promise of urban life, through the continual exploration of Los Angeles, the second largest urban region in the country.
