Faculty Research Opportunities
USC School of Architecture faculty are invited to apply for two annual research funding opportunities: Faculty Research Grants and Research in Architecture Grants. These grants assist faculty in developing sustained research programs or serve as a stepping stone to external funding agencies for faculty seeking federal/corporate/foundational research funds. These programs also support faculty whose research field has limited external funding opportunities, fostering research that would not otherwise be carried out due to a lack of grant sources in the investigator’s area of scholarship.
Funding areas for 2019-2020 focused on research and creative work in:
- Urban Design and Mobility Infrastructure: Los Angeles, Fresno, and the California-Mexico Border
- Urban Workforce Housing: Asia and the Americas
- Technology, Environment and Social Justice
- Reimagining American Inner City: Imperial Courts Housing in Watts, CA (in partnership with Housing Authority of City of Los Angeles)
