Lorcan O’Herlihy Architects [LOHA] engages the ever-changing complexities of the urban landscape, embracing architecture’s role as a catalyst for change. With a conscious understanding that architecture operates within a layered context of political, developmental, environmental, and social structures, their work seeks to elevate the human condition via the built environment.
Since 1994, LOHA’s work has been driven by the ideology of Amplified Urbanism, the belief that exceptional architecture elevates the built environment in dimensions that radiate far beyond normal parameters. This strategy has informed an interest in blurring the public and private divide, and creating fluid interaction between social and civic spaces in order to cultivate vibrant communities. LOHA’s work reinforces the consequential nature of architecture as a transformative action.
