Professor Bartelt is partner and co-founder of the LA-based design think tank, Lettuce. Her research and the focus of her practice investigates the affects of technology on the production, product and practice of architecture and the public realm. Traversing scale and medium, she has designed products and furniture in addition to her architecture. While at Yale, Professor Bartelt served as a Teaching Fellow in the undergraduate School of Architecture and was awarded the Alpha Rho Chi Medal, Parsons Medal, an AIA Scholarship and the Gertrude A. Stein Traveling Fellowship.
Recent Lettuce commissions include comprehensive design of film production studios to high end residences as well as a graphic identity campaign for boutique coffee house. Her project the Buffer House has been highlighted as a House of the Future in the book Outstanding House Designs from Loft Publications and her work has been covered in numerous national design magazines. She is a recent winner of the international Design Green Award as well as the Spark Design Award.
