Charles Lagreco, AIA Associate Professor

B.A.Arch. and M.F.A. Arch., Princeton University; Dipl.Arch., Cambridge University; MacDonald and Diane Becket Professorship in Community Design

Charles Lagreco is Associate Dean of the School of Architecture, and the first recipient of the USC Macdonald and Diane Becket Professorship in Community Design. Since 1974 he has taught courses in design methodology, professional practice, and design and thesis studio, using computer aided and traditional design methods. He has worked with the Community Redevelopment Agency on downtown revitalization activities and is currently involved in educational facilities design and research with an emphasis on new urban educational prototypes and their potential for community-based planning. He has practiced in California since 1970 and has received numerous awards for architectural design, both with Caudill Rowlett Scott, a large international architectural firm, and after 1976, with his own firm, Architectural Collective. The firm’s work, which is characterized by a diversity of projects, has received local, state, and national awards.
