Scott Johnson Adjunct Professor

Scott Johnson is Design Partner and a founder of Johnson Fain, an international design firm headquartered in downtown Los Angeles. Mr.  Johnson and his partner, William H. Fain Jr., lead a diversified office of 75 professionals specializing in architecture, planning, and interior design. Mr. Johnson directs the design of all buildings and interiors for both public and private clients worldwide. He is well-known for a broad range of building types, from major mixed-use urban projects, to destination resorts, and cultural, educational, and residential architecture.  Mr. Johnson began his professional career with The Architect’s Collaborative in Cambridge, Massachusetts, followed by experience with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.  He then spent a number of years in New York with Philip Johnson, designing urban projects throughout the United States. In California, he has been responsible for the design of the Capitol Area East End in Sacramento, MGM Tower in Century City, Amgen’s headquarters in Thousand Oaks, the Byron Winery in Santa Maria, and two schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Mr. Johnson has been the Albert C. Martin Chair of Architecture at USC, and has lectured and taught at both UCLA and the Southern California Institute of Architecture.  Scott Johnson served as the Director of the Master of Architecture Programs from 2005 to 2007.
