Gail Borden to speak at Harvard Design: Chicago

Associate Dean Gail Borden will be participating in the Harvard Design: Chicago’s Adaptive Architectures and Smart Materials Conference on October 1-2, 2015. The event will explore material technologies and their role in architecture through a series of conversations with over 20 thought leaders, academics, building scientists, engineers, and design practitioners.

Borden will be speaking on the “Materials” panel, which will examine the emergence of a new approach to materials—moving from a more traditional view of their evocative qualities to a contemporary focus on performance. The other members of the panel are Sheila Kennedy, Jan Knippers, Monica Ponce de Leon, Skylar Tibbits, and moderator Kiel Moe.
