Window
Types - The Place of Windows |
|
| The project
is to categorize distinct window types in regards to how window placement
may be occupied and enjoyed. The windows are categorized in three basic
forms according to their relation with walls, columns, and in complex combinations.
As walls are always in the middle, simultaneously defining interior and
exterior spaces, windows (and doors) are the events of connection and provide
the conditions for habitability. The project includes references to technical
aspects of window design, to basic window types, and to a collection of
outstanding examples from historic and contemporary designs, and from a
wide range of building use types.
Only several examples are included to illustrate how the materials are being organized. |
