Awards and Prizes Alpha Rho Chi Medal
Presented by the national architectural social fraternity founded at USC by Professor Verle L. Annis, this medal is awarded to the graduating fifth-year student who demonstrates leadership ability and promise of professional merit through character and attitude and who has performed willing service for the School.

American Institute of Architects School Medal
This medal is awarded annually to the senior student in each school accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board, in recognition of his or her scholastic achievement, character, and promise of professional ability.

The Lee Buckley Endowment
An endowment founded by the family, friends, professional colleagues and the Architectural Guild honoring the memory of illustrator and faculty member who taught professional architects and inspired a generation of USC Architecture students to develop and enhance essential drawing skills.  The Lee Buckley Prize is presented to a first-year student for excellence in drawing.  The Prize commemorates Lee Buckley’s career as a teacher and illustrator in national publications.

The Phillip J. Daniel Award
Two architectural book awards from the Phillip J. Daniel Memorial Library Fund are presented annually to the recipients of the AIA School Medal and the Alpha Rho Chi Medal "in recognition of outstanding accomplishment and superior academic achievement in the School of Architecture."

The Carlos Diniz Prize in Drawing
The endowment honors the life and work of Carlos Diniz-painter, illustrator, architectural renderer and teacher – whose work imagined, interpreted and influenced the design of 20th century buildings and urban places worldwide.  At the request of his wife, Jane Dreyfus Diniz, the prize commemorated Mr. Diniz’s lifelong appreciation and visual interpretation of Venice, Italy.  Each year a fourth- or fifth-year student is selected by a committee appointed by the Dean to travel to Venice and the surrounding Veneto to study and draw based on a proposed area of architectural investigation.

The John R. Hollingsworth Drawing Award
And endowment founded by the Nason and Hollingsworth families honors the memory of John R. Hollingsworth (B.Arch. 1943).  The award recognizes excellence in free-hand drawing and visual representation by a student or students in architecture, landscape architecture, building science, historic preservation or a related field completing the first year of graduate studies.  It commemorated the 50-year career of architect and architectural illustrator, John R. Hollingsworth, whose drawings and paintings communicated the vision of architects, developers and other clients including the offices of William Pereira, Arthur Froehlich, Kaiser Hawaii, AC Martin Partners, Daniel Mann Johnson & Mendenhall, Universal Studios and the United States Navy.

Raymond S. Kennedy Award
To recognize the outstanding contribution of Raymond Kennedy to the School of Architecture, the USC Architectural Guild established a student award in his name to be made by the Guild upon recommendation of the faculty "in recognition of outstanding presentation of architecture problems representing creative innovation."

Robert Allen Rogaff Memorial Award for Excellence in Delineation
Awarded each year at the discretion of the faculty to the fifth-year or graduate student who has exhibited in his or her work the most promise in architectural delineation.

Roma Design Fellowship
Established by Bonnie Fisher and Boris Dramov (B.Arch. 1966) and named for their firm, the Fellowship recognizes excellence in urban design.  It is awarded annually as a prize or prizes to upper division students enrolled in a topic studio that examines urban design issues related to buildings, streets and public spaces in Los Angeles, preferably in areas of transition or redevelopment.
