Tenure-Track Faculty Positions in Design
The School of Architecture at the University of Southern California (USC) seeks tenure-track faculty candidates in the area of architectural design. A candidate's design excellence must be manifested through creativity in architectural design and/or practice, and through criticality in architectural research. Dean Qingyun Ma and the School's faculty seek individuals who, in combining design practice and design research, will develop rigorous academic pursuits in design studios and seminars at both graduate and undergraduate levels, and will advise several thesis projects each year. It is expected that each faculty's creative practice or area of expertise will be informed by a unique and integrated design research agenda, which will reciprocally inform new studio and elective offerings within the School's various programs. As the School of Architecture continues to engage emerging global and environmental changes that will transform architecture in an unprecedented way, successful candidates will help to create the community in Los Angeles, renewing energy in the city and reviving the notion of practice.
USC, located on the frontier of the Pacific Rim in downtown Los Angeles, is an internationally recognized research university.
