Mark Rios' work incorporates the best of architecture and landscape architecture design with creative problem solving in the areas of furniture and interiors, fabrics and ceramics. He is committed to the preparation of a strong design concept and to ensure that concept’s final execution. It is Mark’s fundamental belief that interaction among different design fields produces innovative work that satisfies a multiplicity of needs within a clear and integrated framework. His designs have won awards from the American Society of Landscape Architects, the American Institute of Architects, Landscape Architecture Magazine, the Los Angeles Business Council, the California Council of the AIA, Southern California Chapter of ASLA, Los Angeles Chapter of AIA. Publications featuring Mark’s work include Architectural Digest, Architectural Record, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, New York Times, Architecture, Interiors, GA Houses, and Garden Design. Whether working on corporate, institutional, municipal, or residential commissions, Mark is dedicated to applying a strong interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to the design process. Rios served as director of the Landscape Programs until 2006.
