Forums and Events
In addition to the workshops and travel enrichment offerings, the AAC will also sponsor academic tours and discussion forums with leading creative minds in Chinese urban design and planning, art, and architecture.
For Summer 2009, AAC will sponsor several forums, including the following three forums currently under development:
- “Made-in” Paradigm — to explore the paradigm that emerges from the intelligence through voluminous production and consumption as in “made-in” China. “Made-in” has resulted in exponential growth in new rounds of production in architecture and culture of engineering in design.
- Agricultural Urbanism—addressing urban and agriculture correlation and its unique challenges in China and its large implication to environment and new round of urbanization.
- LASH 3—Translative SUB Urbanism of US and China—a continuation of dialogue to explore the translative urban and architectural exchanges between China and US.
